THANKS PAULTHANKS PAULTHANKS PAUL

Me and Paul Reedy taking the pose in front of the london rowing club. Thanks for the boat mate.......
Well it is presently one o clock in the afternoon on a beautiful saturday that has a prevailing head wind making racing a little tougher...but I tend to favour the head wind so racing is set up to be a success. Esther and I just completed our Semifinal in the double and we got through without to much concern to the final. So in a few hours we will tackle the quad (sarah, emma, Esther and Me) and then only a half hour later esther and I do the double final. Fingers crossed.

So my summary about my experiences in England go something like this:

We arrived to the rain that GB is so well known for and went back and forth from the henley to Putney were we trained on the not so still tideway. Paul reedy... the captain of the London RC and australian commrade commented that there was something like 50 different foul fluid/solid types of nasties that live in that water......pollution that lead to Steven Plowright having a infection that went septic and required a hospital visit. So unlike the banks of the yarra...and any other rowing environment where all where flip flops of some

Banks takes on london (ANG, EMMA and Esther).....great to see you ang
description down to the water.....these guys where wellies! And I don't blame them. But you should see the variety of these booties....pink,floral, standard green, blue, poka dots...you name it...they seem to have them,...really cute...i wonder what they would think on the yarra,...could I start a new trend I wonder? NOT!

It was great on the second day...we drove from the henley to the city ...ONE MORE TIME.... and met up with ANG...our beloved who we are very sad was not able to race with us....as I type now she must be getting ready to stand beside her brother Matt on his wedding day. HOPE THE DAY GOES WELL, we are all thinking of her and her new inlaws as they celebrate. We walked around...shopped a little....gas bagged...and rowed of course. Finally caught up with Reedy who lent us a boat.....little big for us but......it did not end up having to be used as we scored a stampfli from the upper thames rowing club. Esthers great rigging made it feel just fine.

Emma has been taking great care of all of us.....we are eating very well and not spending a million pounds in the process. No really funny stories

Not such a great fan of the tideway....tends to really cause problems in setting up the boat...and when you are yarra prima donnas....well....it aint no place like home.....
in london.....except for maybe poor joke telling by emma who just can't seem to make it to the punch line......emma walking into a pole as she read the map book trying to figure out how to get around london was fairly comical....me wearing knee high racing socks that look nothing short of shocking!....Minor female tension freak outs (get the pole out of your ass comments!).....and esther and I walking wearing full rowing gear...smelly and sweaty from a workout..walking through the high class henley festival crowd strewn with black tie and beautiful dresses. Very high class....we kinda brought down the environment a little.....

All and all the brits have been great....I can feel it is part of my heritage....dad being brit.....it has been fun and hopefully sees us henley assault champions.

Enjoy the photos. Next update.....GREECE...can't wait to be a sloth and stop all this physical activity business.

This is a classic home at henley...the gardens are beautiful and the vibe is very peaceful. I really liked this place.
