Well another day another entry - this time we have been to Christ the Redeemer.
But first - an update on Mum, she is on the mend, I actually spoke to her last night or your morning which was wonderful. She sounded weak and was desperate for a cup of tea. Good to talk to her.
I have also been thinking about Dad as well, but I will fill that in later.
So it was an early rise to beat the crowds, the bus came along about 7:30. This driver must have been in a mellow mood as he was not racing, the one on the ay back was not mellow - swerve here, accelerate there, brake here, then accelerate, swerve......... etc. But he got us back nice and quick and in one piece.
Tip - dont fill up your drink bottle with water which has gas - Clare did and while sitting on the bus the sipper blew out covering Clare's back and mine with water - thank go we did not fill it up with lemonaide or juice!
Anyway once we got there it was onto the Trem de Corcovado - the train that
Big J
With friends goes up the mountain known as Corcovado. It is an electric version that raplaced the original coal train - the first ones went up at 7 kph, the electric ones are much faster. Theyn say sit on the right - well that goives you the best views, but really once you get to the top the views are all there. Bevause we were early we were the first train up, this meant there were only 140 people up there to startt but this rapidly grew and I would hate to be there in summer. Big J is quite stunning and huge, the views from the top are also amazing although parts were shroiuded in smog, but hopefully you can get an idea of what we saw from the photos.
Now just a mention of Dad, there is a bit of a thing that happens on these trips, people from the past join us and are then left behind, it started with some of Peter's hair, and then Shirl and now Dad has joined the group. What happens is bits of their hair are tastefully left behind in special places, last time Ruth almost got kicked out of <strong style="margin:

Di kindly gave me a small lock of his hair and this has now been placed on Christ the Redeemer. He has a stunning view, is now visited by thousands a day and where Popes visit. Some people ay find this odd, but it actually meant quite a bit for me. Peter Keane is also up there keeping Dad company and I think we have run out of Shirl.
Anyway now for some photos

Very lovely to hear about your Dad's new views on the world - "to live on in the hearts of those who love you is not to die" Much Luv to you all T & S
