Hola!

I am finally in Madrid! Today has consisted of a 4 hour flight from denver to philly, then an 8 hour flight from philly to madrid, followed by sitting on the floor of the airport with my new companions for almost 3 hours until we were finally picked up by ISA staff and boarded onto a bus to the hotel. We are staying at Hotel NH Nacional and it's extremely nice but the rooms are really strange... Our room has two twin beds, made seperately but then pushed together to look like one bed. It also took me 10 minutes to figure out how to work the light switch, and after becoming extremely frustrated decided to go ask. This was not a blonde moment, for those of you judging me right now, and nearly everyone on my program was completely confused. Turns out you have to insert the room key into this hole in the wall and leave it there for the lights to work. You can control blinds and everything from the bedside table which was nice when I did not want to move after I laid down. The showers have no doors or curtains, and although I was under the impression those French toilet things were French, we have them in our bathroom.

After lugging luggage up 5 flights of stairs (Mom- you would freak out the elevators are literally barely big enough for one person let alone luggge) I was tired, so I decided to take a little nap, or "siesta".

A couple of the girls from my program and I decided to meet in the lobby to walk around, which was fun, but it is SO SO SO hot. Its 88 degrees or something like that, and madrid is not flat. In fact, it is far from it. After walking around for an hour or so we settled down at a cafe and had some sangria and bread.

We have a pretty packed schedule tomorrow so I probably will not post anything. I am also still trying to figure out the WIFI on my phone (which they pronounce wee fee) so once I figure that out I will be in touch!

Mucho Amor
