Yesterday was a very long day of flying and trying to stay awake as long as we could to adjust to the time change. The fist flight to SF was a short half-hour flight and only got up to 9,000ft. The next grueling flight lasted so long that Melissa watched 4 movies and some TV shows on the headrest. This jet was actually really nice and new and had a huge cabin that eliminated my usual claustrophobia on jets. After a smooth flight, we landed in windy, rainy Heathrow. Our enormous jet was rocking so bad in the landing I was nearly covered in sweat in fear of a bad landing. After the usual customs etc. we caught a train to Paddington London, checked into our hotel, and hit the town to distract ourselves from our exhaustion. We will use pictures to tell most of this part of the story. The weather was back and forth between sunny, cloudy, and rainy. The rain always brought strong winds. Hyde Park was the highlight of our trip so far with long trails through blooming trees, monuments, fountains, and stretched out further than we could see. At one point, we found ourselves rushing to a restaurant and bar that sat at the edge of the Serpentine lake to escape a storm cloud that was headed right for the park. After this passed, more walking around the town, and giving up at around 5pm (7am California time), we headed back to our room to get some much needed sleep. This morning we woke up at 5:30am, two hours before our hotel's breakfast started, which is unusually early for us but slept on and off for almost 12 hours so it was time to get up. Our breakfast was continental style and they also brought us the typical English breakfast: fried egg, beans, mushrooms, sausage, ham, and a half of a cooked tomato. Different, but I liked it. Now it's time to do some more exploring and find a hostel around Soho Square if we can. From what we hear, it's a cooler part of the city...
