Sorry to everyone for the lack of updates this past week after leaving Chang Mai.
Where to start... We left Chang Mai by catching a plane outta there to Bankok, and had a couple hour layover in Bangkok before getting into Phuket.
When we arrived into Phuket, we took the CRAZIEST taxi driver in the whole freakin world to Patong Beach. This guy was going like 140 km/hr, weaving in and out of traffic... IN THE RAIN. We were all totally sketched out, fearing for our lives as he was cutting off cars, motorbikes, scooters... You name it, it was nuts... And the worst part about it, it was totally awkward because he made us stop at this tourist info place where they were trying to have us book a room out of, but none of us wanted to get outta the car because those places are just really annoying to have to deal with. The ladies wouldn't leave us alone, but they finally did... But anyways, back to the taxi ride... There was NO music playing at all to make things a little less tense, and the guy looked like a serial killer or somethin like that... Hah...
We were just glad to make it alive, even though none of us wanted to stay in Phuket.
We walked around Patong Beach and it was definitely NOT the type of place we wanted to be around. Every bar we walked by was full of Thai girls calling out to us to try to get us into their bars... Too many suit vendors all over the place... We made the mistake of walkign down this road that ended up being a dead end... And it was lined with nothing BUT suit vendors! How lame is that having to try and ignore these guys once, but having to turn around and do it again! Oh man... Hah...
We finally found a place where we could chill and watch the World Cup.
The next morning, we could WAIT to get outta there! We caught a taxi to the ferry to Ko Phi Phi and spent 5 nights there. It was just WAY too much fun there. The initial plan was to only spend a couple of days in Ko Phi Phi, but we were just SO glad to finally found a place that we liked and wanted to spend
First time sinking our feet into sand
Walkin along Patong Beach late at night some time to relax after being on the go non-stop until we arrived there.
We found a nice bungalow right behind this bar called Hippies, which was awesome. Every night consisted of the following :
7:30 - go for dinner
9pm - make our own Sang Som buckets
10pm - Head down to Apaches to watch World Cup
The rest of the night was just getting totally hammered on buckets...
We met TONS of awesome people in Ko Phi Phi, and spent pretty much the entire time pool side, or chilling on the beach.
We only did a day tour once, which drove us by 'The Beach', but we didn't get to stop there... We did get to go to Bamboo Island, which is definitely an amazing place. It's so gorgeous and laid back there. The white sand, the turqoise sea... We got to go and do a bunch of snorkelling that day... Poor Will got sea sick... BUt luckily he didn't heave anything :P
The next day we left at 9am for Ko Phan Ngan... Too bad Raj didn't listen to my advice about takin it a LITTLE easy the night before we left... He
Thumbs down!
Not at all impressed with Patong Beach spent the night with these two english girls and got a WEEEEEEEEEEE bit drunk. He fell of this stage and scraped up his leg. Fun times... Fun times. (Raj's mom... He's fine. Don't worry 😉 )
We're in Ko Phan Ngan right now, and we're hoping we'll have a good party for Canada Day. I have a feeling that the England game tonight is gonna taking precendence to everything though.
If none of the pictures show up, my apologies. I have NO idea why it wouldnt work.
