After a couple of days being good and playing guitar on the beach, i met a couple of dredlocked Balenese guys who invited me over for a jam.

We played Bob marley songs ( i had to lean these rather quickly) and any other happy songs they knew for hours. Soon we werejoined by a large group of locals all singing along to anything we played.

Turns out the best place to start out a night is on a local beach bar. the tourests dont really use them and as a result the beer is half price about 20,000 (about 40 pence).

At about midnight the bar owner anounst the we were going out to a Reggae bar in Kuta....... i was ready for bed already and this came as quite a shock to me.

David : mate i cant go out in my board shorts, ill have to go home and change and ill meet you there

Local : Dont worrk ill give you a lift to your hotel and then onto the club.

Next thing i know im booking it through the small streets of bali on a moped, guitar on back my hair flowing behind me like i was in some kind of extreme shampoo advert.

I now see why people warned me against staying in Kuta, the place is unbelievable! every building on both sides is a club selling 2 for 1 drinks for next to nothing. every other club has a live band playing. these bands are amazing. you honestly cant tell the difference between them and the record.

Needless to say i drank a lot. somehow managed not to fall off the moped on the way home and i slept throught the whole of monday and monday night! A little confused, 24 hours seems like a long sleep to me.

Im off to pick up Rachel tonight, and we are gonna find somewhere good to stay.

Hope you are all well
