1) I chose this issue because I was curious to see if people are homeless because they are mentally ill, or if they became mentally ill because they are homeless.

2) I learned that mental illness is the third major cause for homelessness in major cities because people with mental illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder push the people who want to help them away. Thus, they become homeless because the help they were offered is not taken. This affects homelessness because because the less help there is for mental illness, the higher the possibility there is for homelessness.

3)This relates to what we learned in class because like the untouchables, the homeless are suffering for many reasons, but people don't care. People still neglect the truth and come up with there own conclusions for why the homeless are homeless.

4) This article made me want to continue further research about what programs are out there to help the mentally ill and prevent them from becoming homeless.

Hey Melanie, I really enjoyed reading your blog and how passionate you are on help homeless people and you wish that things were better for them. I think what you need to work on is very minor and that is to give an experience to entrigue the reader a little bit more so they can relate to what you mean. Other than that, great blog! Great job at expressing your ideas
i liked how you expressed your views on homeless people. Even though they are on the rise.
