All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.

- Martin Buber

Ok, so this doesn't really consitute as travelling, but it is going to be one hell of an amazing holiday. 30 hours ago I was in Leith, getting another whooping on Mario Kart from Miss Muir before heading off to the airport. First flight delay inevitably meant that my bag didn't make the connection that I did and is somewhere around Singapore right now. I stink.

Now most of you know that I am often a walking advert for the Isle of Jura, and the way accross my puffer was again flying the flag and am glad it was too. First thing into Auckland and was approached by a fella from the neighbouring Islay. Detective Seargent George Campbell no dought. Got chatting and he is the assigned policemen to the scottish rugby team for the tournament, handy contact for the next 4 weeks. He was meeting the team so I hung about with him. Unfortunatly they had been told I was waiting and were ushered though the secret VIP doors to escape my camera and attempts to embarrass Paul McGinley, my friend and SRU head physio. I'll get you next time McGinley, next time...!

Its been 4 years since I was here, and it feels like yesterday, the streets, city, backpackers, all the same familiar friend that they were so long ago.

So, here for thr group stages of the Rugby World Cup 2011 with friend who I met here in 2007, Simon Peabody. 13 games, the last of which will surely test our friendship, Scotland Vs England on the 1st or 2nd October. Awesome :-)

Speaking of awesome, in 2 hours there is free poker in the bar and then a wet T-shirt competition, hmm, wondering which I should enter...
