G'day mate from Australia!!

After a 9 hour flight we finally arrived in Australia this morning. Before we got on the plane we saw a rather strange lady doing some 'pre-flight exercises', but Matt and I outdid her by performing the hoedown throwdown and the cha cha slide to the whole of HK airport. None of us slept for long on the plane throughout the night, but the air stewards and stewardesses were loving it, between our tea and breakfast they kept bringing us midnight snacks - mars bars, sandwiches, hagaan daz ice cream, lindt choc, sweeties, short bread etc! As you can imagine it was a very enjoyable flight.

Today has been sunny and the air is much fresher than in Hong Kong, not humid at all. When we landed the weather was quite nice, we got the train to our hotel and checked in, we are right on the top floor so as you can imagine the views are pretty good. We then had a wander down to 'Hyde Park' which is near our hotel and had a rather expensive lunch of pizzas, chips and milkshakes! Later on we went to the Botanic Garden which was really nice, Dad had been told about fruit bats (flying foxes) that live in the trees in the garden. At first we couldn't see any, then we started to see things hanging from the trees that looked like handbags... they were actually the bats and they were HUGE! As usual, as soon as one flew about 5 miles away from our heads, Mum ran back to the hotel ha ha! We spoke to a nice ranger who told us about their flight paths and how they all go to look for food at the same time, we waited around a bit and managed to see them all flying which looked amazing.

We then went to Sydney Harbour to see the bridge and the Opera house - they are amazing. Although we saw them in the dark, the lights around the harbour looked really good. Tomorrow we are going to see them in the light before our cruise so we should be able to take some good pics. There are some good shops around Australia and I have already managed to find about 1000 selling Uggs, woohoo! After the harbour we went to a lovely restaurant and are now back in our hotel rooms! We are slooooowly getting used to the time difference but we are all quite tired!! Updates again shortly, check out the pics 😊.
