“Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life.” – Jack Kerouac

This is my last day in Peru and I was kicking myself for not exchanging emails with the Japanese tour leader and the Swedish couple.

Oh well, live and learn.

I decided to just wander the streets of Cuzco today. I wandered around the Plaza and talked to some people. Then I decided to go to the market. That is an experience! You can find everything at the market. Meat, Produce, herbs, souvenirs, coffee, chocolate. I wandered around for a while when I heard my name. It was Elvis (Is that his real name?). this guy who sells painting on the street. I talked to him for a while and he showed me around the market. While we were there I ran into the couple from Sweden! This time I got their email. If I ever go to Sweden, I have a contact. They were really excited to see me. I am going to send them the photos of our little party on the train.

The guy (whose name is Jan..pronounced like Yahn) told me "I bought some coffee, just for fun" they were very happy exploring the market.

I spent the rest of the day and evening at the Plaza. I decided to have one more Pisco Sour and some ceviche at this restaurant called Fallen Angel. It was very weird, but cool.

My last morning I went for breakfast. While I was there this guy named Thomas started talking to me. He is from Germany and had been traveling Peru for the past two weeks. He was going to be in Cuzco for two weeks now and had just arrived last night. I was jealous because he was getting ready to experience the magic of Cuzco.

Went back to the hotel to wait for my taxi to the airport. I am sitting here in the airport in Lima waiting for my flight to Houston. It is another long layover. When I get home I will have time to reflect on this trip and sort it all out. But for now "Hasta luego Peru. Regreso pronto." Until later Peru, I will be back soon.

Fallen Angel
It is weird but cool. I'm not sure about the broken mirror though. I guess I am too superstitious.

Broken Mirror
Yes, but you didn't break it.
