New York is a busy place especially over a holiday period but I survived and seen as many sights as I could. I walked a hell of a lot and that's the best way to see the place also with the help of the subway.
The first day I arrived in my hostel there was a bit of drama. Not only did i stick out like a sore thumb in the area for not being latino, I was informed that the hostel had to close under orders from the state. So after 3 days I was moved to Harlem near to central park. The apartment had twelve staying in it the first night and one bathroom (nightmare). The area was still slightly scarey though but what can you do if you want to stay somewhere cheap. The people staying in the hostel where all nice though and friendly.
Things I liked about New York:
1) central park, its just beautiful and full of wildlife.
2) cheap clothes shops which unfortunately I couldn't buy from but I will be back for.
3) cheap public transport, and fast, unlike Belfast.
4) dog parks, they're so good. Manhattan parks are doggy heaven
haha
Things I disliked:
1) hustlers everywhere offering to help you, then they want your money.
2) tips and taxes, enough said.
3) dodgey areas and crazy hostels.
My minds a blank, so end of blog number one. Just look at the pictures.
