The drive to Santa Barbara

Today we left Morro bay at about 10am after an all you can eat waffle breakfast that was included at the motel 😊 verrry yummy! It was my first day of driving today so was pretty nervous as I hopped into the car....pulled out of the driveway and almost hit a car who was zooming past as I was just edging there!! Not a great start! But then once I got going I was fine. It was hard to constantly be trying to stay on the left hand side of the lane so we didnt move into the lane next to us on the right cos its such a diff feeling being on the other side of the car!

As we were driving we decided to stop in at Santa barbara - which we knew was a real nice place but super expensive cos we had tried to get accomodation there but it was crazy! There was 9 exits for santa barbara and we hadnn't google mapped these directions so took a stab in the dark, had to stop and ask someone but made it to a beach there! It was gorgeous and so hot!!! It was a nice change

to not have a bitter wind charging through us! So we sat in the sun for about 40 mins then went for a bit of a walk and continued on with our drive. The rest of our drive to ventura was very slow but we never found out why Took us just over an hour to get to our hotel!

We came into our room at the Viking Motel and were standing with our mouths open! King beds!! yeahhhhhh!!! aaaaaand a 42" TV, full kitchen (tho it did only have plastic knives and forks and one bowl) all for $30 each a night!! So far so good with the pre-booked accom!!

We made our oatmeal for lunch and then went for a walk to get ome food shopping then El stayed in the room and chilled out while I went for a walk down to the beach and took a few pics. We made teryaki chicken stirfry for dinner in our kitchen which was delicious but did prove difficult as I cut up the chicken with a small plastic knife!!

Good day and after showering Rach realised just how sunburnt she was on her chest! Ahhh no
