Flights!Flights!Flights!

I feel like this is the story of my life right now!
After 10 days in Sunny Southern California and a few days back in Washington, I flew to the East Coast yesterday! I've been pretty excited about this trip because I get to see many great friends that I haven't seen for SO long and probably won't see again for quite some time!

Monday morning I left home at 3:30AM for SEA-TAC. My mom was the only willing volunteer for that airport shift. ha ha. I had a flight to Denver and then on to Boston. Both flights were full and I had middle seats so they were long and tiring. Getting 3 hours of sleep the night before was a big part of the problem. I feel like flying to Korea is faster than the East Coast! I think I just expected that because it's America it should be pretty quick but it's not. It takes the large majority of a day. I landed at Logan and took the T to Harvard Square to meet Sarah. The last time I flew into Boston was my junior year of high school when I nannied for a family for the summer in Needham, MASS. It's been a long time!!!

Sarah babysat me when I was really young and after graduating college she moved out to Boston. My mom, Destiny, Lacey, and I all flew out here TEN YEARS AGO to visit her. I can't believe it's been 10 years! But we had an amazing time so I've always loved Boston even though I haven't spent a great amount of time in it.

Monday I met up with Sarah on Church St. in Harvard Square. It was such a cute street with shops and I remembered quickly why I liked Boston so much! We went and saw her beautiful new house that I love! And I finally got to meet her husband and then we took off for dinner. We ate an amazing Thai place and I had extra spicy chicken pad thai! Yum! Then we went to the Liberty Hotel, which is GORGEOUS! It's an old jailhouse that has been re created into this amazing hotel with restaurants and lounges so we went there for a drink.

I got to talk with Jake for a little bit before bed which was nice. It seems much easier to talk to him while I'm on the east side. I guess those 3 hours really help.

This morning we got up and first stopped by Darwin's, one of Sarah's favorite coffee places. I also got to see the house where she works...and then we drove over to.....can't remember the name side of town, closer to the water. We ate lunch at an INCREDIBLE place! It was SO good! Sarah kept telling me it was fantastic but WOW!!! They have pastries and coffee and really good sandwiches. I tried something very different: a roast beef sandwich with horseradish and fried onions and tomatoes. I have never ordered anything like that before but man, it was good! Then we walked around the water and over to Faneuil Hall area. We also walked through the commons and over to the river where I watched the 4th of July fireworks show 10 years ago!

Sarah dropped me off at South Station to go to work for a couple hours and I took the T back to Harvard Square to meet my friend Stephanie. I met her at Liberty and remembered that she moved to Boston a couple years ago! Amazingly, Tuesdays are her days off and her husband was out of town so she was totally free and could come meet me for a couple of hours! I'm so glad it worked out! Sarah asked me what her job was and I wasn't sure so I asked her and she said, "I nanny in Harvard Square!" ha ha exact same thing as Sarah! So that was pretty funny.

Stephanie and I got ice cream, walked through Anthropologie and then through the Harvard campus. We ate an early dinner at Legals Sea Food, which consisted of really good clam chowder and an excellent crab dip! Then we walked around a bit more and ended up at Darwin's for dessert which is where Sarah met back up with us. Everything worked out great and I'm SO glad I got to spend time with Stephanie and Sarah! It was so funny to find out that they work not too far from each other and both go to Darwin's all the time and LOVE the coconut macaroons! Ha ha They both recommended them to me.

Anyway, that's all for now! I love Boston and would LOVE, love to live here at some point in my life. Maybe soon.
