Hello everyone, we are still in Marathon, Boot Key harbor. There are over 300 boats here and most use City marina for center of activities. There are Spanish classes, Yoga, soft ball, games and a lot of activities if you choose.
We have been playing Bocce (spelling) ball, some Yoga, and other games. There are showers, laundry and stores nearby. I got Carol and me some wheels (two used bikes) and we are riding all over the island and us them to get supplies.
My Son Ron Jr and his wife Jen came to the islands and spent a night with us on the boat. Next week Art and his wife Ellen will be coming to Marathon so we will get to spend some time with them. Carol continues to beat me black-and-blue at all the card games we play. She has even met other lady friends who now take pleasure in also beating on me. So any help I can get there would be appreciated.
You can go to the live web cam and see our boat WWW.cityofmarathonmarina.com . When
it shows a path out in the distance with boats to the right we are the 2nd boat to the right on mooring N2. The first boat is a trawler and we are beside it. See the picture below.
Days are in the 70’-80’s and nights are around 70. Water temperature is around 73. We plan to take a day and go out to the reefs and snorkel. This weekend is the Marathon Seafood festival and we have volunteered to buss tables for Relay for life. Then we plan to go to Carol’s mothers around the 15th and go to Dania flee market.
We have our mooring ball thru April 8th and hope to get a weather window sometime around the first week of April to cross to the Bahamas. (I can taste the lobster already!) There are weekly meetings of boats that will be making the crossing and many boats travel together. After that we will decide how long to stay and where we go from there.
So Cheers to all and keep in touch!

Enjoy Your Blogs
Looks & sounds like you are enjoying your retired life. I really enjoy reading about your adventures. Debbie & I will soon be sailing by. We will be heading your way, leaving from Fort Lauderdale to the Eastern Caribbean. We will be on a 7 night cruise, visiting San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas and St Maarten. I'm anxious to get back on the water and have the salt air smack me in the face again. I'm curious, how long do you anticipate the crossing to take to the Bahamas? Enjoy!
