The Crystal Clear Water of the Med
We arrived into Fettiyeh after dark and it took us a while to work out where our hotel was. We had pre-booked in Istanbul, so we knew what it was called - just none of the locals did. We finally found it after a good hour of searching and checked in before heading out for a quick meal before bed.

Fettiyeh is a typical beach resort town and as such attracts tourists from all over the place, including fat, sunburnt, lager-swilling Brits. Happy time! Our one day in Fettiyeh was spent sitting by the small pool in our hotel, getting sunburnt and drinking lager. (well?) We even found time to duck out at lunch for a doner kebab and in the evening for...the same. A very un-productive day but who cares!

Saturday morning, we were picked up at our hotel at 10:00am and dropped off at the V-Go travel office at the marina. Today was the day we departed for our 4 day cruise to Olimpos. After the cruise company kicked off a 50-year old crazy and eccentric Norweigian woman who was loud, obnoxious and wouldn't believe me when I promised her I was English but insisted I was

Greek (all before the boat even left!), we finally departed Fettiyeh under the cover of cloud.

In total, we were 11 passengers. Molly and Jeffrey (USA), Carolyn, Yves, Jeremy and Peter (Canada), Alison, Kate and Amanda (Australia) and Adam and myself plus Captain Erkan, cook Atur and sailor Orhan.

The following 4 days all seem to blur into one mega relax-a-thon. We stopped a number of times, visiting Butterfly Valley, Oludeniz's blue lagoon, St. Nicholas Island, Kas, Kekova, the sunken city at Simena, Gokkaya Bay and a former pirate cave. In between all of that we ate, drank, swam, sunbathed, burned, listened to music, read, drank, ate, slept, ate, drank and sunbathed. Other highlights included my hurling myself off the side of the boat stark bollock naked after losing a bet to Adam, dancing to loud, Turkish techno music on the roof of the boat and sleeping out on the deck under the stars.
