First flight done! It's amazing how much positive attitude reflects back to you when you're positive yourself. On the flight to Vancouver I sat next to a young Japanese fellow named Toru. He was very shy to begin with but the simple question of "where are you headed to?" Started a conversation that lasted the whole flight! The poor guy had lost his passport and was going to the embassy in Van in hopes of getting a new one. He is learning to speak english but I found his conversational skills to be very good. He was asking me what other languages I spoke all the while thanking me for helping him practice his english. He also taught me how my name was spelt in Japanese as well as informing me that "anne" was quite a common name in Japan and that "Anne" means apricots!
So far a very good beginning to what is going to be an amazing adventure!
Premier vol fini!
Kwaheri!!!

Hope you're having a good time or had a good time with your friend in the USA. Amuses-toi bien ma tite anne banane, Jeanette
