Hi dear friends
Well we have now been teaching for one week - didn't take long to get back into it. Lovely being with the pre-schoolers as most of them are still in that class. I am working with Paula (New Zealand girl) and we have so much fun with the kids at the same time teaching alphabet, maths, colours, animals etc. Bob is teaching the older kids 12-15 yrs. This last week he has been teaching them about renewable and non renewable energy - so happy doing ABC's!!!!!
Last Tuesday we had a visit from the Monks to bless the new Womens Centre and were all invited to attend. Lots of chanting and throwing water over us. A bit weird really becos as we left the monks came out lighting up fags!!!!! During the lunch time we were all invited to the monastory to be properly blessed - declined that one. When volunteers came back and explained that they stood for about 15 mins while a monk poured buckets of cold water over them!!! Great.
Last Friday met a volunteer who lives out here for dinner and then on to Chillies and joined the quiz and had a few beers. On Saturday we joined our lovely hotel with the pool and spent the day. Saturday night we were invited out to dinner along with about 40 other vollies and Khmer staff. Had a great meal and then Tuk Tuks to Karioke (all 40+) great fun. Lyn had a sore throat and has a dreadful cold but she is British and carried on. Sunday more of the same swimming, sunbathing and swigging cold beers - Bob went to watch our kids play football in the morning. Stayed in Sunday night had a light supper and watched two episodes of 24 (which by the way Jaymes we are really enjoying).
Tonight we and a few vollies are going to Golden Village, (unfortunately the restaurant upstairs has closed permanently) literally around the corner for some noodly things!! We were there one evening last week and unfortunately despite a vast menu they don't have most of the items on it - so hey ho!On Friday we have been invited to the launch of "The Reaper" local free mag for expats. So more bacadi and beer. We are leading young people astray as we have invited them to the Anghor What? the place where you buy buckets of alcohol and dance away the night til 2-3 am mind you they didn't take much persuading. On Wednesday it is Australia Day and a few pubs in "Pub Street" will be having themed parties.
That's all for now folks. Photos later.
LOL Lyn and Bob xx

Hello Bob & Lyn
Hi Bob & Lyn Sounds like you've settled in and having fun already. Just like home from home. I bet the kids were really excited to see you both, those mad people from England. What a hectic social life you have over there loads of things going on sounds brilliant. I bet you're missing the baby though can't believe how much he looks like Lauren. Can't wait to see him. Things are busy with us I'm madly training only 9weeks to go now so getting my but into gear. Running to work with my rucksack on which is pretty tough and lots of walking. We're off skiing to Bulgaria in two weeks time with Jake and Hannah so really excited about that. I'll have to be a bit cautious as do not want to be breaking anything. Have a great time. Love Samxxx
