Parliamentary Palace
We arrived into Bucharest and took a metro to the Elvis Villa Hostel where we had planned to stay. We ate a typical Romanian Meal of pork leg and beans, bought some beers and settled down to watch Arsenal v Villareal.

We had a relatively lazy morning before leaving the hostel to see Bucharest's major tourist attraction, the Parliamentary Palace. After first finding the wrong palace and then stumbling accross teh royal palace it was a major anti-climax. Billed as the second largest building in Europe, it was big. And thats all I have to say about that. We returned to the hostel before heading to the local 'strip' which had a couple of bars, none of which were particularly good although we met an English girl from Manchester called Farah who is heading in a similar direction to us, so we have our first travelling companion/

Thursday saw us take a suicidal taxi ride to Bucharest station and board a train headed for Bulgaria.

In the Lonely Planet Europe Guide, it states ''Forget Prague, Forget Budapest. Bucharest is the new European destination.'' What a load of old cobblers. My advice.... stay well clear, it's crap.

Hello! It's your Romanian orphan! I'm back in England and green with envy that you chumps are still travelling! Keep us all updates on how well the Borat impressions are received in Kazakhstan!!! Also from what I remember, you guys appeared to enjoy the "suicidal" taxi ride whilst I was squirming and gripping on the dash board for dear life! Take care dude, Farquar!
