Met Edgar a Dr., he invited me for tomorrow tennis at 9-45. He warned to be careful at the ATM.

Similarly Micheal and I went tonight to Filipes house for coffee and I think especially so I could meet his mother. She also was cautious and insisted Felipe drive us home as it was after 11PM. Felipe not so concerned.

Turned out to be a very fun visit and I will meet with Filipes mom again on thursady for intercambio lecciones English and Español. It is midnight here so I will load some fotos tomorrow and publish this then.

Day 7 Wed.
Taxi horn 5 am outside widow then other noise I might have slept though.
Good tennis game with 2 Colombian ladies and Nelson, play again tomorrow at 9. Ball boys again. Some guys don''t use them but the ladies always do ...but the guys pay.... :-( but just $2 each. :-)

Walked over to the English school and arranged possible practice with a teacher who needs

accent correction.

Went to a cafe just off the main drag. All cafes are outdoors here. Very pleasant time practicing Spanish, the older fellow talking to me was slipping across the street for a shot of aguardiente (Antioquian) the national drink here. Very beautiful Colombian owner, I stayed maybe 2 hrs. trying different pastries with chicken and tuna and a sweet one.

It's 5.30 should be going to the gym but kinda tired. Will join Michael for a bite to eat somewhere. Have to be rested tomorrow; I have kinda a date with Filipes mother in the afternoon.

I should be getting other accommodation as the hostel is kinda young for me there are two other 50 y.o./s here but generally I don't mingle too much as I think for some of them..not all...it is like having there father at a party. Luckily I have a private room with wifi.

Hi William
I'm an Austrian currently living (contracting) in Holland. I do contact you because we do have 1 thing common. We love Colombia. I just returned from Medellin on January 16th. …means actually have been there several times (I even used to work in Bogota & Medellin for 6 month in the year 2003), and my dreams (or plans) are to return for a longer period as soon as my contract ends over here. So I'm curious what's going on over there. That's how I came across your blog. …just read that you had a boring day. You may try Santo Domingo (Bibliotheca Espana) and parque Arvi (cable car) => nice (safe) hiking in a totally different Climate (a bit colder). Or paragliding in San Felix => even if you don’t fly it’s a good (short) trip with great views. I always took the Metro to 'San Javier', than the cable car to 'Vallejuelos', walked up (10 min) to the main road and flagged down a bus to San Felix. You ,ay also take this bus from the terminal norte, sure locals (hostel, friends…) can help you. …hope I will read some more stories from you…and pictures! Here my pics from this years trip: http://cid-2202b8f5aba6c05e.photos.live.com/browse.aspx/Colombia%20II …and from my 2009/2010 (4 weeks) Christmas trip: http://cid-2202b8f5aba6c05e.photos.live.com/browse.aspx/Colombia Best regards Michael

Michael: Thanks for your input.
You have very amazing fotos. Can I use some when they are about my day? Fotos like the paragliding make a person want to do it much more than someone just saying "paragliding is a good thing to do":-) Thanks Again, William
