Drove to Brighton today - the town where Eileen was born and left at age 6. Went to the main pier where there are a couple of amusement centres and rides. We had lunch there as well. Was warned about the seagulls by one of the staff, and sure enough I was hit. Was walking along about to take the last bite of my samosa when a gull flew in from behind, grabbed the food from my hand and swiped me with a wing. They have been trained well. I was a lot more weary with the rest of my meal.
Made our way to where Eileen lived, including the infamous site where Eileen was dragged down a hill by the pet dog after her sister Trish called the dog down - deliberately. Eileen lost a tooth - but all is forgiven. Kids were most interested and went and had a climb of the hill themselves. The area is all housing commission and Eileen was saying how thankful she was that the family left.
Had a meal at the shopping area and went to the cinema to see "Megamind". Movie was OK.
