What an amazing place, castles, beaches and an enormous estuary populated by very noisy curlews. Has to be said the site we stayed on was not the best, very quite but didn’t feel ‘comfortable’, however the surrounding area certainly made up for it. We did several walks from the site along the banks of the estuary, it was a bit damp underfoot, but the scenery was great. We went into Tenby to do some shopping and couldn’t find the shops, they are hidden behind what looked like castle walls, very confusing, but fine once you found them. Tenby itself has lots of great beaches, even a castle on an island, and a small harbour – very nice. We walked along the Pembrokeshire coast path and found many little coves and a huge beach backed by sand dunes. The weather was mainly sunny but we had our first taste of winter, frost and frozen stand pipes – brrrrrrrrrrrr. Will definitely return to the area, but maybe a different site.
