SUNDAY 23rd APRIL 2006

We moved on again today, always exciting to get to the next place. The road out of Queesnstown was very picturesque with snow capped mountains and a long drive around the lakes. We passed through lots of winerys and fruit stalls selling the most delicious looking fruit so we made a quick stop for a bag of apples!
As we were getting closer to Wanaka a huge black cloud was hanging right over us and the wind started to get really strong-leaves gushed out of the vineyards almost taking us with it! Eventually it passed and turned into blue skies, thank god!
The pretty little town of Wanaka slowly started to emerge from within the mountains. We found somewhere to stay immediately at the Lake view holiday park which was only $24 a night..pretty cheap compared to what we've been paying!

No sooner than we'd arrived we went straight back out again. We drove through the town and headed straight to 'stuart Landsborough's puzzling world'. We walked through passage ways full of illusions and holograms and then into an illusion room with things such as water flowing upwards and chairs going the wrong way up a staircase-very clever!
Also outside were statues placed so you take some funny photos-which of course we did!
On the way back to camp we stopped off at the 'cinema paradiso' and booked some tickets for tomorrow night...its supposed to be a very different cinema experience! We also booked up a sky dive for tomorrow as well as the camera man to film us :o/

Then we came back to camp for abit and chilled out for the rest of the afternoon. In the evening we took a walk into the centre. Had a few beers at 'scruffy murphys' as it was Happy hour and then went to the main bar~shooters! It was a really nice bar with great big leather sofa in front of a huge log fire...very cosy!

MONDAY 24th APRIL 2006

Well today is the big day! Sky Dive Lake Wanaka came to pick us up at 2pm and took us to the airport! We got fitted up with our hidious jump suits, all multi coloured just make them even more flattering and then it was a quick intro with the person we're jumping with..my guy was called Eugene and Seans was called Hank! We were then whisked up into the plane to 12,000ft. The views were beautiful as by the time we were up there the sun was just beginning to set and you could see Mount Aspiring (New Zealands 4th tallest mountain) in the distance..however the views weren't really our main priorty!! Sean had to go first, which was pretty unfortunate as he was the only person afraid of heights but he did it and actually surprised me as he never once hesitated..then it was my go, now i have to say i was actually a liitle nervous as the instructed held me dangling out of the plane while he adjusted the straps but before i could think twice we were gone and we were freefalling. As soon as i got used to breathing out there (its abit like putting your head out the car window at 100 mile an hour) i started to relax and enjoy the views! It was absolutley amazing!!!! Once we'd been falling for 45 seconds Eugene pulled on the straps and released the parachute which sent us hurtling back up again but then glided us gracefully back down! Sean actually came down just after me even though he was out first and looked relieved he was on the ground but also really excited about what we'd just done!

After all that today we then went to the 'cinema paradiso'!! As we were checked in we were offered home made cookies and cakes and also asked if we'd like a meal prepared for us to have during the interval! Then as we went in we realised why this cinema was a little different from the rest...it had great big sofas inside..cosy ones, hard ones, arm chairs you name it. It also had in there an old car which they'd converted if you fancied that..we went for the big snuggly sofa and of course some of those warm home-made cookies-yummy!!
