Apologies for the wonky shot, need to get myself a tri-pod. This is the world's only 7* hotel.
Last night I took a trip out to the Burj Al Arab again, this time in the evening. Everywhere is just so relaxed and chilled, it’s contagious and they love to light everywhere up with ever changing colours and sequences. You could probably stand watching the Burj for 5 minutes just watching the lights change colour. Anyway we took a walk down towards the private beach where a path cuts through it out to sea, there you see a small tower and as you get closer you can hear the music. It’s a place called 360, and you go to the top and as the name implies you get an amazing 360 view of the landscape. This includes the Burj Khalifa, the Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel next to it which is shaped like a wave. The deck is lined with comfy lounge chairs and bean bags, and a dance floor in the middle on a raised platform. For anyone who thinks this country is very strict, go down to 360 and see, not only the music and the booze, but also the clothes people are wearing. It makes you feel right at home but instead of being

in some sweaty basement, you have a nice cool breeze and views unlike anywhere else.

After leaving there we moved onto another place where they have some relaxing music and everyone is smoking shisha, again the lights dictate the mood and you can just see the Burj Al Arab poking up behind some of the old fort-like buildings. All I’ll add to that is the chilli cheese fries are awesome!

The night life is definitely something different to what you/I would expect, but I for one will be enjoying this for many more nights to come. If ever there was an incentive to come and visit, this should be one. I still just can’t get over the relaxed pace and how chilled everyone is. Anyway I'm now sitting in a cafe around the corner from my place after relaxing by the pool for an hour and buying some knock off DVDs. I’ll leave you with the thought of money talks, and over here it has a very loud voice and will pretty much get you anything, from a parking space in a private car park for an hour, to getting someone to look the other way
