So arrived rather delayed at 3am and got a taxi to our Pousada in the leafy area of Santa Teresa. Breakfast was had on the terace with amazing views over the city cerntre. Next was some exploring, we followed the Santa Teresa tram into the city centre through Lapa on our quest for a cash machine and the tourist information. Unfortunateyl unlike the Uk there is more than one type of Brazilian cash machine and this caused lots of confusion and meant we had to visit a few banks and ask a few guards to get it right. The police presence in the banks was at first a little overwhelming. It was a hot sunny day and we came back for a seista before going out for a amazing meal inthe evening, which set us back a good few reas but was worth it. Sleep was limited last night due to the party carrying on on the terrace below.
Today we walked to this park in santa teresa with fantastic views of the whole city. We were going to go up the Corcovada but it has been raining too much. Hence the post!! will post again soon
