1st Real Day of our Holiday

So, now we are lying in our Holiday Inn room, in a nice big King Bed, at Los Angeles International Airport!! HOW EXCITING!! 😊 But what has happened up until now?! To be honest, not a lot, so here goes.....
Left Cairns at 4:30am on the 2nd October to fly to BrisVegas. Got there safe and sound, waited around the international airport after clearing customs (phew?!) and got on the AirNZ flight to Auckland at 11:30am. Unbeknownst to us, flight only took 2 hours, not anticipated 4, so got into Auckland (after timezone changes) at 5:15pm. Perfect timing really, as we checked-in and Mischa realised quickly that on all the TV's in the airport was THE AFL GRAND FINAL!! 😊 LIVE!! Happy as a pig in mud he was!! Watched the whole game (disappointed in the result, but what the heck!!), then had another 2 hours to kill. Ended up getting on the flight from Auckland - Los Angeles right on time, and got used to sitting down again!! Great food, choose-your-own-entertainment, and a spare seat next to us helped pass the time, as we sat on the plane for 11 1/2 hours. So far, in one day, that's 15 1/2 hours on a plane, 7 hours sitting in an airport, and when we landed in LA, it was still only 2:30pm on the 2nd October!! GO FIGURE!! 😊
Anyways, cleared customs quick enough, and arrived at our hotel. Only having a bit of time until we were hoping to get to the LA Dodgers vs Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Game. Mischa thought we could catch buses, so got some cash, and headed off down the street after doing some quick (15min) research online. Ended up realising we were never going to figure out how to get to the game by bus, ordered a Taxi (ended up being awesome driver) from another hotel and got to the game!! You can see by the pics, the stadium is huge, but still very close to the action!! Awesome atmosphere, food exactly like the photos and heaps of fun!! Saw a huge Home Run from the Dodgers best hitter, and they won, so everyone left happy too!! Had a few issues trying to ring taxi man back with mobile, but have now made it safely back to the hotel. At 11:30pm, Sat 2nd October!! Longest 2nd October we've ever had, so now are ready to crash.
Big few days coming up, tommorrow we're off to RIO!!!
