This is the closest you are going to get to authentic pizza in Weihai. The owners are really nice and willing to accommodate your special requests. Take someone who can translate for you the first time. Once they get to know you they will remember your order. It took a little arm twisting for them to put fresh tomatoes on the pizza. They just throw it on top like a garnish. Whatever works, right?
If you ever make it to Weihai, you've got to search out Farmer's Pizza. Even though they use ketchup instead of pizza sauce (I'm told you can't tell the difference) they will accommodate the pickiest of eaters (I'm referring to myself here.) I always get the vegetable pizza without sauce. Since MSG is laced in everything, I didn't want to take any chances. The owner was honest enough to admit that the dough was pre-made and she didn't know if there was any MSG in it. Turns out, if there is, it's not enough to make my ankles sell up. So veggie pizza it is!

We ventured down town to the see the tailors (that's another story) and got a bowl of hot noodles, flat bread, soft snugly blankets (for 30 quai each) and date bread. Yummo!

This TCM doctor was a real find. He fixed my sore throat in about a day and a half with his herbal formula.

This is the TCM doctor I go to when I get sick. He is really good at what he does. None of the other Americans are particularly interested in going to him when they feel sick, but one of the Russian teachers went and got a customized herbal tea formula for her cold.

Here I am with my 6 quai bowl of steaming hot noodles. They didn't give me any broth, just hot water with garlic and ginger (next time I'll request more ginger.) They also threw in some greens. Not a bad bowl of soup and the price was right.
