Destination: Canada

Well I left Fort Collins yesterday and it was bitter sweet. So happy my trip is finally beginning, yet super sad to leave all my friends behind. I already miss them. The drive to the airport was interesting with Lauren driving; we almost got in a car crash, and then almost pulled over too. Plus I had so much luggage. Packing stinks, especially when it was for four months and for every season. But I made it to the airport safely. At 11:30 the plane was boarded and we were ready to take off until maintenance problems happened. We sat in the plane with no air conditioning for about 45 minutes when they let us finally de-board. At this point I’m calling my mom to say I’m going to miss my connecting flight and to reschedule me on something else. I get a new flight to Canada at 9:45 in Detroit. By 1:30 we finally get to board and leave. I fall asleep before takeoff even happens.

Our plane lands in Detroit. I go to the restroom and look at what my new gate is. Halifax bound 9:45 Gate B19! I go grab food then head over to the gate. I go up to a nice lady to get my seating assignment. We talk about my flight and short story. I could have made my old flight, there is not 9:45 flight to Halifax, I was put on some random plane. That is not okay! I break down crying. After calming down the lady gives me my new FIRST class ticket to Halifax for August 24th. She also hands me a hotel voucher and 40 food vouchers

I get to the hotel, grab some strawberry ice-cream and go to bed. Wake up today, very overcast and ready to make it to Canada. Shower, get my stuff together and head to the airport. Security being a breeze I walk down to get some lunch and Mrs. Fields cookies. Then I wait till I land in Halifax, Canada! YAY!
