Mick gave me a free return bus ticket to Whistler so on Monday morning I took the Snowbus across to Whistler. The journey took 2 hours...I was dreading it having lost my ipod, but it was absolutely fine as they played us a film and I fell asleep! I woke when my head bashed against the window really hard, and couldn't believe the view. It looked like we were driving through a tropical island, we were looking over the lake and all the mist was lingering over the other islands across the trees.

I met Lucy in Whistler Village and we took a taxi to the hostel. With our huge backpacks we stumbled down a really steep wooden staircase only to end up at a railway track. The hostel was immediately on the other side of the track. There was a sign sayinjg "cross at your own risk", but with no other options, we walked across the tracks. We entered the hostel into a room that smelt of dogs and feet, I wanted to be sick! We were greeted at the front desk by a very angry canadian who informed us there was a no shoe policy in the hostel and that we had to leave our shoes outside! We checked in and took our bags to the room. The room I swear was made for dwarfs, the beds were tiny. Other than the moody man, the smelly room and the dwarf beds, the hostel was pretty nice. Right on the lake, literally 2 metres from the waters edge overlooking the mountains. It was really peaceful. On the first night Lucy and I made a fire outside, or should I say attempted to make a fire! Some guys came to help after realising we weren't really the camping experts we made out to be!

In the morning Lucy and I took a trip into the viallge, nice viallage but a little overated! We decided we'd get the early bus back to Vancouver the next day as we'd exhausted the village in one day.

Now I'm back in Vancouver, 2 weeks left here and very unsure as to what I'm going to do with my time! If anyone has any suggestions, my ears are open!
