So I didn't update yesterday because I had a rough night sleep and had to finish a long paper that I didn't get done this weekend before we left for class at 10. Well... Sunday night... 3:42am... I am deaddd asleep. I felt a fly land on my arm so I shook it off. Well I felt that it was still on me so I shook my arm a little harder and this time heard something hit the floor. Obviously, a fly wouldn't make a sound hitting the floor so I reached above my head, still laying down in the bed, and turned the light on to look at what I had thrown in the floor. It was the biggest, nastiest, crawliest ROACH. So, I fought the immediate urge to vomit in my bed. THAT THING HAD BEEN CRAWLING ON MY ARM DURING MY SLUMBER!!!!!!! Then I realized that I needed to kill that thing, because if I was unsure if it was dead or not, I would never sleep again. I searched the room from the "safety" of my bed and found that the only tool I had that might be a roach killer was a box of tissues. I grabbed the box and took a few minutes to pump myself up for the kill. Meanwhile, the roach had stayed in the same spot on the floor and hadn't decided to take cover in the wall/floor. I leaned out of the left side of the bed and slammed that box down on that thing hard, 3 times. I decided it was fully dead and left the box on it so that if there was any life still in it, it would be pinned and eventually die. I layed back down and turned the light off after a few minutes of searching for any evidence of roach brothers and sisters. Of course, I was completely awake at this point scared out of my mind trying to get some sleep before another long day. Maybe 5 minutes after the kill, I heard some scratching coming from the floor. I frantically turned on the light to look to the left and see that the tissue box was INCHING ACROSS THE FLOOR. the roach was dragging the entire box from underneath!!!! If you can imagine, I was even more disgusted and i went to the closet, put on my shoes, and thought about picking up the box and smashing the bug INTO the floor. After going over in my head how the roach would probably just run across my toes or something, I decided to just jump on top of the box, fully smash it into the ground and spin on top of it so there was no chance of survival. I did just that and peeked under the box. Lets just say there was no question that the roach was dead. I put the now smashed box back on top of him and left the lifeless body for my roommate stavros to clean up in the morning.

That being said, I slept very little, barely finished my paper in time, had class/lesson planning/ teaching until 8 that night. Last night I didn't sleep well either fearing a roach would lay eggs in my ears or something. But no problems came up again. Other than the "incident" things are going very well. Will post more tomorrow!
