Today we had a look around Grand Central Station - amazing building. Very grand!
We had brunch there too in one of the hundreds of places to eat. We did our usual trick of going to the place that was packed with New Yorkers on their lunch break and were not disappointed.
Next stop express train 4 to Yankee Stadium. Wow! What an amazing day. Matt & I have never watched a baseball game (other than what we had seen watching that Major League movie from the 80’s!).
Yankee Stadium is a slick well oiled machine. Our seats were magnificent, in the shade all day. We watched the whole 9 innings and even though the Yankees lost 2-1 to the Red Sox, it went down to the last ball. There were a few home runs & one batters bat snapped in two. We had the obligatory hot dog and shared an ice cream sundae - served in a mini batters helmet.
We both felt this was a great day - the music and entertainment and everyone was so friendly and happy - a really nice place to be.
We thought it would take us forever to get home - but no, things are so organised and within 3 minutes of getting to the subway station, our express train back to grand central pulled up!
