Wednesday August 4th Arrived in Vancouver this morning. Naomi and Jon were there to meet us, it was so good to see her. We picked up our baggage and then had a short wait for the Westy to arrive. Loaded the bags into the bus and Jim got the low down on gas, propane, water and the general workings of the beast.
Drove through down town Vancouver and over the Lions Gate Bridge heading to Jon's parents home.
The bus will be great for the next two weeks, our home on wheels. The camping gear provided by Westy rentals is not that great so we are going to borrow supplies from Naomi. Things like dish clothes, tea towels and simple place settings would be good to have. Then comes shopping. The fridge in the camper only works on electricity so the rental place supplies an electric cooler, similar to what we have in the bus at home.
The views as we drive along are amazing, the ocean is just awesome. Jim says a bit of a California look. As we travel along Marine Drive, along the water side, the vegetation is lush and green. Jim is loving the driving, winding roads

Thursday August 5th We have decided to stay with Naomi, Jon and his family for a few days and then travel to Whistler and the Wedding. The early morning trek to the airport coupled with the long day and time zone change has knocked us out.
The home we are visiting is built literally on the mountainside, lots of steps and a really fantastic view of the inlet and the other side of Vancouver. The house was built originally as a cottage, before the Lions Gate Bridge was there and people had to ferry across in the 1930's. Being built on the mountainside and having additions over time make it a wonderful place with lots of character which we are truly enjoying.
Naomi and I were able to rummage around and outfit the bus with a decent set of kitchen supplies. Today we are going to head out and pick up a few groceries and necessities like coffee and tea and the things to make them with.
So far we are having a wonderful time here in Vancouver, and we are looking forward to Robert and Helene's wedding on the weekend.
