BIKES COLLECTED

We successfully extracated the GSs from the cargo people yesterday but not until mid afternoon after a bit of a late start due to jet lag and also quite a wait for the customs guys to clear our bikes, even though when we actually got to them they were still in the crates! We got lots of help from the great guys at the cargo place to dismantle the crates and also they waived the storage charges of about C$200 - which was great. We filled up with fuel (at only CAD$1.06 a litre - approx 65p!)

MORE ANIMAL STORIES

One of the guys at the cargo warehouse was from Labrador and told us not to worry about the bears (which Sally has been) but to really worry about the moose and not to ride our bikes after dark. Loads of people get killed every year in road accidents with moose hitting their cars/motorcycles.

LUNENBURG

We headed off and ended up at Lunenburg which was described by one of the many very friendly Canadians we have met as 'a nice place'. That is putting it mildly. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. The

everything must have a dual purpose - Sally's bike doubling as a washing line post
town is all shingle sided timber framed houses built in mostly the Victorian era - quite stunning. The road to Lunenburg followed the South Shore and wound along the edge of the sea and the view was spectacular with hundreds of inlets and little off shore islands.
