Boarding the barge from Inskip Point bound for Fraser Island. It's $90 for a round trip and takes about 10 mins
WOW....what a fantastic place is Fraser Island, which is part of the Great Sandy Marine Park in QLD. Listed as a World Heritage site in 1992 for its natural features which include lake, soil and forest systems; evolving dunes, unique landscapes and sand-blows; which form when strong onshore winds break through the vegetation cover, driving sand from the eroding dunes and then engulfing forests in their path, a bit like describing a small scale Sahara desert in amongst vegetation. There are fantastic scenic drives and walks, and a 4WD is a pre-requisite when travelling the sandy tracks. Dingos are everywhere on the Island and there is plenty of signage and education for tourists in regards to being Dingo-safe! They may look like dogs but you need to remember they are wild and can attack you. It's important to never walk on your own and feeding them is forbidden. We had 3 wonderful nights and 4 fantastic days and thanks to Steve and Larnie who invited us along with a host of their fabulous friends from Brisbane and Sydney. What a great time we had and what a great group of people. Thanks to Steve and Larnie who were our 4WD tour

Looking from Fraser Island to Rainbow Beach just after disembarking off the barge. Our destination is Cathedral Beach which will take 1.5hrs and we must get there before the tides rise.
guides on the Island. We had singalongs around the campfire and enjoyed eachothers company. This was truly one of our highlights on our 2010 Australian Tour.

Hi Monique My deepest apologies for not emailing to you sooner. As you can see I am still having a great time and yes we are still on the road. I'm glad you are enjoying the photos, did you get a copy from Irene and Phil. It was sooo nice meeting you too, all of you have really given me inspiration to keep going with my guitar and singing as sometimes I think i'm not too sure if I should. Thanks for giving me inspiration! Will be back in Perth in a couple of weeks and will let you know when I get my first gig. I will certainly never forget you guys.....ur the best. xox Alitia
