This campground in Arakoon is located on the bay side of Laggers Point, on the strip between the beach and the historic Trial Bay Gaol. Trial Bay Gaol was established as a public works prison in the 1870s. It was built to house prison labourers, brought here to build a breakwater designed to make Trial Bay a safe harbour between Sydney and Brisbane. This is Lee taking us for a tour of Madura Tea Plantation. Mum and I visited this plantation about 30 years ago and at that time it had only been running for about 3-4 yrs. Check out the tea bushes and apparently the only leaves harvested are the top layers. Madura import tea and mix it with their own crops.
