July 5th.... Well, another "hot" tour day on the Trafalgar Tours coach. We left Karlsruhle this morning and made the trip through the Black Forrest of Germany. Incredible scenery! We entered Switzerland and stopped for lunch at a lovely Waterfall called Rhienfalls. Much like Niagara but without the commercialism (or at least the same degree) which made it very special. After lunch we headed for Lucerene Switzerland. We travel through Zurich - It seemed really strange to be in Zurich where our good freinds Nancy and Domi live, except, they aren't here - they are at their summer home in Pembroke! Strange indeed. We did however start to get a sense of why Nancy has come to love Swiss life so much (I mean aside from Domi!!)! After some time in downtown Lucerene we went on a trip up a cog railway and then a cablecar well up to the top of a mountain in the Alps overlooking Lucerne - it was a spectacular experience to say the least. We have once again enjoyed temps in the high 20's! Our Hotel room here in Switzerland is interesting. Sherry thinks the bathroom matches the one on the U-Boat in the movie "Hunt for Red October". I on the other hand think it is the revenge of our children for having made them live in residence while they went away to school! This as my freind Capt. Romero from Belize would say is "worse than Guantanamo Bay! At any rate, I expect we will survive. Look for a couple of things from us:
A) Fewer drinking Pictures - You ALL know that's what we are doing here and it's now becoming redundant...
&
B) as in previous posts, another following this one with a few more picturres.
Tomorrow - off to Venice, a dream for us both.
With love from Switzerland,
Hal & Sherry
