June 26-June 28 Alexandria, VA to Madison, WI

So yesterday we spent the day touring Madison, WI. Vinny and Jen are some serious tour guides. We did EVERYTHING. First off, Porn in the Morn breakfast at the local bar actually called Bennetts Meadowwood Country Club. There was nothing high class about this place, and yes while we were eating our breakfast serious porn was playing on tvs, gross and weird. The eggs were great, however.

Next up, they took us to their grocery store, where you can literally walk around and sample ALL the foods. Justin was in heaven, sampling all the crazy shit that I don't normally allow him to buy in the grocery store. This also meant you could sample the cheese and beer. I actually think it tops Wegmans.

Following the grocery store, we were then taken to the University of Wisconsin at Madison student Union. Sounds thrilling, right? So there Union, is essentially a German beer garden right on a lake, where you can lay out, rent canoes, sit outside and enjoy live music and Wisconsin beer. Inside, a huge flat screen tv where at this point everyone was watching soccer. Why do people go to schools like Geneseo? Seriously...this place was amazing.

That's cheese...gross

Of course, we had to try a local brewery. Live music was playing, the weather was perfect, and the beer was delicious! We played cribbage.

Following the brewery was The Old Fashioned. With 150 beers on tap, we were able to sample some of To end our really long day, we went to yet another german beer garden, continued our cribbage competition, and drank some yummy warschensteiner. This place literally reminds me of germany from the food and drinks to the building and architecture and I'm feeling it!

Today we have to decide if we want go to see Clapton at Summerfest in Milwaukee (for $8) or we hit the road to yellowstone. Seeing Clapton for $8 is such a deal, it is a bit hard to pass up. But 1200 miles stands between Yellowstone and I. I'm and eager to knock some of that out.

Vinny and Jen have been awesome hosts! It has been so much fun, and Madison, I will come back!

Bye for now!
