Possibility: a future prospect or potential, capable of existing or happening

I love the feeling you get before a big event or period in life where you have planned so much for and thought so much about it, but then have absolutely no idea what to expect or how its going to turn out. When you know that the possibilities are just endless and that anything could happen. It such a rush!

That’s where I am at right now. I have spent the last 4 months preparing to lead this program for WYI, and ultimately about 2 years before that dreaming about what it would be like…and it all begins today!! How god dam exciting 

Francesca (the amazing women who is also leading a 5 week program at the same time as me) and I have spent the last few days in Kisumu (a beautiful little city on Lake Victoria which will be our ‘base’ for the time we are in Kenya) going over our program plans with a fine tooth comb and making sure everything for our participants first week of ‘orientation’ is set and ready to go. The paperwork and logistics has been done, and now its time to put it all into action.

Right now I think I have some idea of what is possible for our volunteers and the community….however I can’t even begin to imagine the full extent of it.

Over the next 10 weeks my team is going to complete two construction projects for two very needy rural communities, build two mud brick houses from scratch for families without shelter, run a free medical clinic which will see about 500 patients who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford healthcare, take on individual projects of their own, volunteer their time and skills in various ways around the community, and that’s not even the half of it. The friendships and relationships they are going to make with each other and with the community will stay with them for life and the personal development benefits for them will be unimaginable!!

Bring it on I say …
