Rednecks!!
The guys being a bunch of posers at Adams farm. Ive never been to a place so far in the sticks!! (from left, Al the crazy manc, Matt the ex Cambodian convict, me looking a bit stupid, Adam with ADD, Patch the "grin" addict, Steve the film buff, and Dem with OCD! Top bunch of lads! It’s been a long time since i've written anything on here!! Since I've last written an entry I have been working picking apples which I thank god is now over, I have calluses on all my fingers and am bored of being told that apple picking is a highly skilled job and you need to "turn and twist" them off a tree instead of pluck them!! It's Bloody hard work for crappy money however ive managed to actually make money for the first time during my travels which can't be bad, even worked lugging around Persian carpets in a museum for the most moody Indian guys you would ever want to meet!! ! I’m glad to not be working for my orchard contractor Gary anymore, Ive never met a person who swears so much and promises lots of work who then ends up getting fired himself!! Finally you know you have stayed for to long picking apples when you actually get ill from eating too many of them I never want to see or eat one again!!!
Apart from the work I had a great time in Napier though it felt like I had been there an eternity it became
Hillbilly Trev
The farm made Burmarsh look like central London! almost like home ( I even became a member of the local library.....how sad is that). I stayed at Archie’s bunker a local hostel and met some awesome people. I Want to thank Doug and Julie and Rachel for making me feel at home there at the hostel, cheers for not throwing me and the other guys out and looking after us during the infamous cheap wine, Vodka and card game incident, I haven't touched wine since!!! Also that BBQ you made for us was great and made a change from my own basic cooking!! Ohh and cheers Doug for not being too angry when I locked myself out of the hostel at 1am in the morning, while at the same time leaving my mum waiting on the phone inside! Im sure you were really awake when I rang the buzzer! Also just wanted to say hello to the guys, Matt, Keith, Steve, Jenny, Patch, Dem, Al, John, Becky and not forgetting crazy Adam had a good laugh and some great nights which if I can actually eventually remember ill try not to forget!!
Apart from working which was pretty much 5 days a week we did plenty of
Hostel Bums
Yup spend far to much time on my arse watching TV and drinking......good times!! other things to keep ourselves occupied. Using Adams banged up camper van ( I think you should look on the roof mate a surprise has been left for you!) we went on plenty of day trips. One day we decided to go cliff jumping and ended up getting lost in the woods, and actually finding no cliff to jump off! Went body boarding at Ocean beach which had some great waves, I caught my first tube...dude (one for John there)!!! Had some interesting times when trying "Grins", if you wish to know what they are please mail me ;-). The few clubs in Napier were alright however they were filled with 7ft Maori guys who were often just looking for an excuse to start a fight, advice for anyone coming to NZ do not offend a Maori they have 6 inch skulls! I learnt to play Texas holdem poker with the other guys at the hostel, even won some games ( we will have to have some games when I get home lads)!! Best of all though was the weekend we went to Adams farm, went quad biking and clay pigeon shooting and drank plenty. Sadly our timing was bad
Paddies night
Paddies night, the Irish carbombs didn't go down to well!!! as the local hall nearby was burgled that night and the police suspected us of being the culprits, we probably did look suspicious with our shotguns and quad bikes though especially as no one new we were supposed to be at Adams house :-s. A lot of time was spent in front of the TV ( the settee’s were far to comfy, many a drunk night people would drink to much and wake up on them the next morning with one hell of a hangover, no names mentioned.....Patch, Dem!) but luckily had a good bunch of people to keep me company and enough DVD's to watch to last us a lifetime..... Matt I hope your not watching Dawn of the dead again!!
It was hard to remember everything I have done over the last month, work and the need for money was pretty much the ruling factor but it meant that everyone went partied mad on the weekend and there was always something funny happening in the hostel, I will always have good memories of my time there thanks to the people I met, hope to see you all back in England, if not on my travels!!
Now
The lasses!
Becky & Jenny, good bunch of girls and pissheads in there own right. Jenny actualy had to be put in the recovery position by Doug the hostel owner one night!! tsssk tssssk, id never let myself get into that state!!! reunited with Kim back (she missed me so much...who wouldn't!) also travelling with Jon, a good mate from Thailand I haven't seen for a couple of months and Ben from Australia its been like old times. Were are all off to Fiji together, I’m looking forward to spending most of my 10 days there relaxing on the beach and doing as little as possible!!
P.S. Email me any pics of us all in Napier guys also please add some comments!

Apple Whine
Hey Trev, the braeburns are on now and the boys are doing 8 bins a day, see what you're missing, sunning in Fiji while you could be busting your butt back here. Great times, and a learning experience for you in more ways than one, no more letting adam and matt pour your drinks. Enjoy life and have fun to the max.
