Flew from Madrid during Friday afternoon and arrived approx 1 hour late at 20:00. The taxi to the hostal took approx 15 minutes. The hostal (L´Auberge Inn) is situated between the old and new city. The hostal is owned by a Swiss man and they are currently expanding the building to include a Swiss Bistro on the ground floor so there was quite a bit of actvity going on over the weekend.

The room I have over looks the nice courtyard which the guests can sit and eat/drink in. The room is small but it has it´s own bathroom and the best bit is it´s only 11USD/night.

The choice at breakfast is good - continental, americana and the healthier option of fruit juice and fresh fruit salad (strawberries, pineapple, melon and a couple of others I´m not sure about) topped with museli and yogurt - which I chose most days. It made a nice change to have fruit which would normally be quite expensive in the UK.

The weekend was spent acclimatising to the altitude and getting my bearings around the city - I visited a few resaurants and tried (in vain) to book a cycling trip with the biking Dutchman (http://www.bikingdutchman.com/) but they were closed - out cycling or shut for the Easter break I expect - will try again next week. Most of the travelling was by taxi - a trip around the city isn´t normally more than 2 USD.

Glad you arrived safely. Have been thinking of you. Hostel sounds nice, especially the breakfast!! Shame about the biking Dutchman, I looked it up on the net and looks really good, hope you manage to get a trip. Hope you get to look around the city in more depth - it looks a really nice place. Take care - speak soon. Di
