McDonalds
It's open 24 hours ! It’s been years since I left Manila, Philippines. I remembered leaving the country with a strong desire to come back one day. Months ago while browsing for some online cheap tickets, i came across Airasia’s promo going to the Philippines via Clark. I did not think twice. I grabbed the opportunity and now i have yet another exciting travel story to tell.
For more information and cheap tickets, please do log on to
Airasia website. I got my return ticket for only Rp 800,000,- ( Jakarta-KL, KL- Clark, Clark-KL, KL-Jakarta).
My flight was scheduled for 9:00 P.M, which means i have to be at the Soekarno Hatta International airport at around 7 P.M. Since I was coming from the office which is located close to the Gambir train station, I simply took the DAMRI bus( here’s more information on
DAMRI bus schedules ). Travel time was about 1,5 hours but just be ready to travel for 2 hours considering Jakarta’s rush hour traffic. DAMRI bus from Gambir station to the airport costs Rp. 20,000.
Airasia already has a web check in facilities where you don’t have to follow the queque. Simply enter your booking code and voila !
Need some sleep?
It's a backpackers club @ midnite ! You will get your boarding pass in no time !
Don’t forget to prepare the terminal fee (Rp. 150,000 per person), and if you are Indonesian, show the authorities that you are a taxpayer by showing your NPWP card. If you don’t have it, prepare to pay Rp. 2,500,000.-. Yiikesss !! 😞
My flight went on time and I arrived safely at LCCT KL at around midnight. My next flight to Clark will be at 7:40 A.M . So, is there anything to do at the middle of the night at LCCT? Will the airport authority allow me to stay?
Don’t worry, you are not alone. Lots of backpackers are actually SLEEPING at the airport. Upon arrival, you can see people trying to find for a good spot to sleep, either at the chairs or at the floor. If you don’t want to sleep just yet, LCCT McDonalds is open 24 hours. You could get a coffee or hot choco, or even get a burger ! ( I looked at the prices, it ranges from 8-12 RM ). I decided to read a book until i got sleepy, get my sleeping bag and doze off until 5
Web Check In
Web Check In - Airasia. Convinient ! A.M
Notes and suggestions: 1. Airasia for international flights in Indonesia still fly thru Terminal 2 ( not the Airasia terminal, or maybe—not yet). Don’t be fooled, please make sure to call Airasia customer care beforehand ( number : +62 21 50 50 50 88 )
2. Please order your baggage online . If you want to order on the spot, it will be 30 %!m(MISSING)ore expensive. In Indonesia, it will costs you Rp. 90,000 ( compared to 60,000 when bought online); RM 30 in malaysia ( RM 20 online) and 450 pesos in the Philippines ( 300 pesos online)
3. When planning to have a long period of transit time in KL, bring your sleeping bag. You will need that !
4. When juggling thru different set of flights, I don’t think Airasia is offering a check-thru service for baggages ( please confirm this at Airasia). What i did was, i went out to the baggage claim area, got my baggage, and do another check in for my next flight 😊
