HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!!
that is my favorite video of all time and it involves this wonderful day!!! 😊
the past few days have been super relaxed and kinda laid back.
i had my first class tuesday. it was my art theory and criticism class. carly and i are in it together so that is good. we can head to school together in the mornings. we walk about one block from our dorm and head to the Trolly station. from there, it takes us about 5-10 (depending on the traffic) to get to the U station closest to us. we all bought a week long ticket so we dont have to buy one everyday and we can save a few bucks. then we head downstairs and catch our tram to the VIC station (Vienna International Center i believe...its where the UN center is). then we catch a bus that takes us about another 5-10 minutes to our school. we only have to walk about 2 blocks from there. so all in all, its about 30-40 minutes maybe? im not sure. i dont carry my phone and i dont have a watch. time just means nothing to me right now while im here. haha. its really nice.
anyways...class was good. only 6 of us in it. we should learn how to write really nice critiques on shows and individual pieces of work after we are done. after class...i deff realised how luck i am to be at the stl campus back home. this is a super small building (about 3 floors) and you see everyone all the time. its so very small and they dont offer studio classes. if you want to take some, u have to head to the applied arts building which is somewhere else. the "studio" room looks like the tiny art rooms i taught kidzart classes in. they dont have studio are as a major here. their main art focus is visual culture which is perfect for vienna. there is so much amazing art to see and talk about 😊
we headed back home and just hung around. it was gross and cold out. everyone has a cold. i headed back to school to buy some books for my other class on terrorism. i need 4 books! at a total of 110 euros!! no way. not for a class i only took so i could travel over 4 day weekends. so i didnt buy anything haha.
came home and read a bit. really didnt do anything. made pasta. thats it. hahaha.
today, met up with adam and went to the museum quartier again to look at art, but the museum we wanted was closed. so that was lame. i did, however, find out that all the pictures from my last post are actually of the Hofburg Palace, Library, and othe art museums as well as the imperial stables. hahaha. so suprise!! go back and look at them and imagine just living in there! jeeeez.
walked around today. decided to buy tasty treats. i really dont eat much out here cuz i am too busy looking around. but i bought some pastry with chocolate in it. it was amazing! tasted like a ferarro roche (sp?) candy from back home. eveyrone just walkes around here and eats bread, pastries, or little sandwhiches. haha. it was gooood.
then i bought some of these really awesome waffer cookies everyone loves out here. like the vanilla, choc, and strawberry waiffers at home...those little rectangle ones? but better obviously. hahaha
so ya. went to school again. dropped my terrorism class. added an art class about Freud haha. should be fun. adam is in it. i might go get my books soon. maybe head to some car show with carly. haha. we do the most random stuff.
FUNNY THINGS ABOUT VIENNA (SOME MAKE ME WANT TO LIVE HERE, OTHERS FREAK ME OUT):
1) i cant figure out the doors. u "push" when you should "pull" so i look so dumb
2) the little skater kids are awesome and ride ripsticks
3) veggie burgers and shrimp at mcdonalds?
4) flushers on toiletts are on the back wall and they are huge buttons
5) cant find regular water...its all sparkling (gross when your hungover)
6) still get carded at the doors of bars (even tho u can drink at like 16)
7) everyone smokes everywhere
8) coke tastes sweeter
9) not a lot of cereal
10) THE WORST PART ABOUT VIENNA.....ARE YOU READY??? NO FREAKIN PEANUT BUTTER!!! NONE!! WE FOUND SOME AT ONE STORE AND ITS THE ORGANIC KIND AND EXPENSIVE!!! YIKES!!!!

Just one more thing little girl....I noticed a bit of over usuage of the hahahahahahahahahahaha in your post. not that I am a critic or anything haha but haha you may want to throttle back on the haha Iceman!!! just kidding, or am I hahahaha I love you and I am glad you are having fun. I also am glad about your new outlook on life, travel, boys, etc.
