A view from my balcony.
So I have to admit that the first couple of days were extremely hard and lonely. I was ready to book a ticket home and organize my storage unit, doesn’t that sound a lot more fun then Bali?

Now that I am adjusted I am remembering why I came to this amazing place. I am currently sitting on my balcony overlooking the lush tropical courtyard surrounding the pool and it is pouring buckets. Really POURING. I have found that it does this every afternoon around 3:00 - 4:30. Yesterday I was trapped in an amazing resturant with a girl from Florida named Nicole, we are both traveling alone so it was nice to have drinks and dinner with someone besides lonesome old me.

I am staying at the Puri Garden hotel and have grown accustomed to my little room, beautiful garden pool and breakfast. The banana pancakes / crepes are the best thing I have eaten since I have been here. I dont particularly love Indonesian food but I am going to take a cooking class so perhaps my appreciation will grow.

I have decided to stay in Ubud the entire time I am in Bali, there are
Yoga BarnYoga BarnYoga Barn

This is where I am spending a lot of my time while here
a ton of activities that I want to do and I am leaving Bali 4 days early to head to Singapore. I found out that the entire island shuts down on New Years to reverse global warming. You arent allowed to leave the house or turn on lights, not very condusive considering I need to get to the town where the airport is located that day, so I re-booked.

While in Bali I haven't done a ton of sightseeing and am not going to hit any beach towns but really love everyday. My version of "GTL" (Gym, Tan, Laundry) is "Yoga, Pool, Spa" not too bad of a schedule for two weeks.

I have been trying to do two Yoga classes a day at the Yoga Barn, it is great. The studio is an open air room overlooking terraced rice fields.

Off to the spa now...

Woo-hoo
Yay! So glad to see the blog up and running! Also so glad to hear how great of a time you are having...even if the first few days weren't so fun. I could totally get up for a routine of yoga, pool, spa - rinse and repeat....ahhhh! Can't wait for the updates :) And good call on getting out before the town shuts down - why are they even scheduling flights if that is the case?

Finding You...
It sounds like you are doing exactly what you wanted to do- I can only imagine how hard the first week might have been. Tons of changes and it is probably all just sinking in... I love the yoga, pool, spa- enjoy every minute. Truly a once in a lifetime experience- we don't get a lot of those anymore (because we are getting old). You aren't missing much in the states- it's starting to feel like spring in Nashville and my brother (Travis) is visiting this weekend. We are going to hit up the Bluebird Cafe which we will have to do when you come to town. Soak it all in! This is all about you and no one else, so absorb every moment!
