I made it to my placement. It took over seven hours on a songthu (that is a truck with seats in the back and all the luggage stored on top. The road had loads of curve! Most of it had some sort of paving but lots was dirt. I am living in the back of a general store just outside the placement. I have a room to myself and it is quite comfortable. My bed is a plank on the floor with a thin mat (very similar to what we had in PV). The bathroom is outside squat and a bucket shower. (no warm shower ). We are very well fed! Spicy! The camp it is weird to say is very picturesque. All the houses are bamboo and there is a steep hill in the background. Lots of trees around. There is a main street that has stores that sell all sorts of things. I start classes on Monday and will teach three classes. Everyone is excited to have a new teacher and a female. The last year all they had were males.
