Didnt getting internet access with ability to upload pics will be such a tough task in India. I started this trip on Feb 7th, here is the update of the first two days

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Oops, thats what happens when you are lying on a hammock on a beach thats covered with a tree canopy, cool breeze blowing and shade all around

I started my India trip with a 2 day stay at Tarkarli, near Malvan, which is 550KM from Mumbai. Took a train from Mumbai (had planned to do sleeper class, but chickened out and did AC 3 Tier 😊 It was fun traveling on a train after so long, the journey has a character to itself, especially if you get chatting with people

Took the Konkan Kanya Express (which goes to Goa), got off at Kudal and Tarkarli is an hour of auto ride from Kudal. I had expected a bumpy ride in a remote village, instead found proper tar roads and the "village" is definitely upmarket (no thatched house, all new tiled ones)

Tarkarli has a pretty secluded beach, its beautiful by itself (if you can ignore people relieving themselves on the beach, which in itself makes it a "shitty" place 😊

And as luck would have it, I am the only one staying at the resort, which means I get very good service, nearly home cooked seafood (yumm yumm) and complete solitude.

Also went to Sindhudurg, which I believe is the only fort built by an Indian king (Chatrapati Shivaji) in the middle of the sea. Shivaji was a great warrior king and his acumen can be seen from the fact that the fort is built with limestone and tar, so that if ever there is a breach in the wall of the fort with a cannon fire, the tar can melt and fill the whole 😊 Very smart. Was also heartening to see that the government is spending time and effort to preserve the fort. Its another matter that I had to take a rickety boat into the sea to get to the fort 😊

Getting out of Mumbai and coming straight to this place has been a complete change in surroundings and pace of life

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... oops here I go again 😊
