what an amazing day

AMAZING AMAZING DAY!!!! (I feel very positive on this thing, I guess I need to start being the negative-nancy all of you love?... maybe tomorrow??)

4 big-amazing things happened today which in no particular order will follow. First off, I got to do my laundry today for the first time here. Let me just say that was an experience! And just for the record, it takes two hours to JUST wash clothes here. The drier, we were told, takes two times and still leaves the clothes wet. Which was proved when my roommate tried to dry her's yesterday. So I just washed and oh man my clothes smell good!! they are still wet but are all over the living room drying as we speak. YAY clean clothes!! I have a few clothes I manged not to wear in my 7 layer outfitting so that will be my attire until these ones dry.

Secondly, I got to talk to my mommy!! It was funny because 8 hours really is a long time difference. When trying to figure out a time, my mom was like oh 9pm would work for me, but umm thats 6 am here. So YEAH, anyone who knows me knows that would NEVER happen. But anyway got to talk to her and see my daddio!! I was hoping to see stinky (Walton) but that didn't happen this time :'( but I got to see him on sunday.

Third, encouraged by my mom I went in search of the 20th century art in theory book. (Yes I am still obsessing about this book) So I went to our bookstore, which I knew would be more expensive, but low and behold, what did I find, a NEW EDITION of the art in theory book. So this one actually goes all the way to the year 2000 BONUS YEARS!!! haha So needless to say I am SOOOOO HAPPY and will probably bug you guys with this for a while yet. But now I own it (happy dance) and can highlight and bookmark and underline as I please!! For the record, that means about 15 lbs I need to throw out to come home and Im still without the 16_ _ - 1815 volume. Which I am NOT getting in Ireland!! DONT LET ME!!! there is little chance I can chuck even 15 lbs, let alone 25 or whatever that will add. YIKES!!

And Fourthly (is it fourthly?? is that even a word?), I get to go to FLORENCE!!! I booked tickets today for a trip to florence in february for 3 and a quarter days. I'm going with my class "Art and Patronage in Renaissance Italy" so its very fitting. According to the secretary, they try to arrange this trip yearly and it is the one trip that they put on that no one complains about and everyone has a really great experience! So YAY look forward to that travel blog!!

Oh and it was a total heat wave (as my mom says) today! it was 42 degrees F most of the day and no rain!! can you believe that, I didn't even have to wear a scarf until the sun went down. It is supposed to stay this nice for a few days and even maybe (cross my fingers and knock on wood) even get to the 50s. Oh wow I might be able to get nakee in the streets if it gets that warm (hehe JUST KIDDING!! Dont worry I'm still a Cali girl and dread the weather being below 65) It isn't bad but I am looking forward to a little bit warmer weather.

So Im going to pre-warn you all... I'm going on that retreat this weekend, starting friday, which means I won't have a computer for 3 days 😞 my dedicated fans, you know who you are, are just going to have to sit tight and wait till late sunday. Please don't call mom and start freaking her out, thinking that I've died or something terribly wrong has happened. I am fine, I will be fine! I will just be away for a few days. SO I'll tell you again, but just so all you crazy nuts can prepare for it, you will have to be without a message for a we few days.

So on that sad note (I know you are all crying buckets right now- sarcastic except in the case of my mother 😊 I will talk to you manana! Hope you all have a great day!
