A & S Go West Ending

Once we were out of the canyon, we crashed for a night in Flagstaff, then headed south to Sedona, Arizona.

We stayed at a motel for the night that a middle age hippie couple bought after falling in love with the area. There had been a flash flood just days before we got in and an article in the paper with pictures of cars flipped, roads washed out, and other damage to the area.

Frankly, I was too sore to really enjoy Sedona and I would like to go back. There are a lot of trails in the red rocks that would be great for hiking. We visited one vortex site and walked around town. From then on it was a race against time.

We tried to follow some of Route 66, but we were simply too short on time. We did visit the Cadillac Grave Yard which was cool. A family that was leaving had some extra paint, so I attempted graffiti, but that is one skill I do not have. I am hoping my pictures are still on my camera card(s) because I cannot find them anywhere on my computer. dun..dun...dun...

Sometimes we'll catch an episode of Man vs. Food. One particular episode, he took on the 72 oz. steak challenge in Amarillo, Texas. While it looked mouth watering good, a 72 oz. steak challenge isn't on our life goals, but we did stop for a really good dinner. However, Alex ordered an appetizer, that I did not read the description of, he assumed I knew what it was, and after trying Rocky Mountain Oysters, I found out a few days later I had actually ate Bull Testicles. Sweet.

The last 16 hours of the trip were the longest. Alex pulled an all-nighter and we went straight through on home. While it was another memorable trip, home was more than welcoming. Our bed never felt so comfortable after many nights in the tent and a few in random hotels.
