DurianDurianDurian

Dad with a guy preparing Durian in the morning
Woke at 7.00 am Singapore time, 9.30 home, so good catchup. Hit the streets straight away. Nice to get out early and see everyone getting ready for the day. Some guy cutting up Durian got the kids to take a photo of me with him. Found a lady making fried pastries. As we were looking a guy comes up to tell us what to buy. Thought they were going to have a full on fight, he said these are too oily, must try these etc, then we chose, then he is telling her off for passing off a burnt one, she says its crispy etc! He leaves and she gives us extra to prove its not oily. (it was a bit oily, but Harry loved it). So day one the 2/3rds that were not going to eat local breakfast had a local breakfast.
We went down to Chinatown, being Sunday it was really quiet, had a good look around and felt really safe. Nice markets, didn’t get much, but nice to look around. Found a massive food court for lunch, and all ate pretty well. We then went down to Orchard rd, and by now the locals were awake, and all

out. It was packed. Bought some necessities for the kids, shorts shirts etc and moved on and out.
Little India next, for dinner. This was amazing. The Indians work six days a week, all male, and this is their only day off. They absolutely fill the streets and any open area. Had a great meal and people watching. I cannot believe how many people were there, we had to walk around a park because it was too full. These guys are so peaceful, so even with thousands you felt really safe, although we kept Isabella close. Once again, fell into bed.
