Terrecotta Warriors

We lost a day yesterday as Laura was hungover and in bed all day, I just had a wander around Xi'an town and booked our sleeper train to Shanghai.
This morning was all about hostel search for Shanghai, once we were sorted we got a (603) bus to the train station to begin our trip to the Terrecotta Warriors. When we arrived at the station it was absolute bedlum!!!! Thousands of people just sat on the floor with what looked like all of their possessions in big bags, on trolleys and loads of armed guards with serious looking weapons. We meandereded through the crowd and found our next bus the 306 to the the museum.
On route was like something from a movie, with little dogs running next to the bus, and roads with a closer resemblence to a mountain track, with big holes missing in the road. It was fun. We arrived at the museum and had a little row about buying tickets, then fought off 'tour guides'. At the actual museum was really interesting, with little bronze, silver and gold horses, stone armour, pots, weapons, and of course the Terrecotta army which we found last, just as i was beginning to get disapointed that they had been moved or something. The army itself was great, and not fully excavated, still going on which means there could be more exciting things left to discover. Some chinese people asked to take a photo of us with them infront of the Warriors, even more interesting!!
We head back on the bus in rush hour which brought with it lots of beeping, shouting and general chaos.
We finally got home and went to a local restaurant for tea. We had a hot pot with chicken, which came out bones and everything. It was on a ceramic heater on the table to keep warm.
Ever tried eating meat off a chicken head with chopsticks, unable to hold by hand as it was too hot???? ADVICE- Take care not to choke, cut your mouth or brake a tooth!! Fantastic end to a fantastic day.
