The month of November flew by in a blur. We are sadly behind in making posts here, but life has kept us so busy, we've just tried to take care of the matters of the day.

Here are some events for November:

November 13 we celebrated Luke’s 19th birthday. It’s hard to believe our third child is in his last teenage year! We celebrated with a treat of home-made ice cream - cherry pecan! The ice cream here leaves much to be desired, and so we do what we can to promote dairy intake. 😊

We celebrated Lindsey’s high school graduation on the 22nd. After our Sunday evening Bible study with the other missionaries, everyone stayed to help Lindsey celebrate. George gave some remarks about Lindsey, and then we enjoyed finger foods, and of course, cake.

Thanksgiving was spent with the other missionaries. We spent the afternoon at the Staffords, eating a light lunch and visiting, and then we went out to supper together. In previous years we have prepared our own Thanksgiving meal and have eaten together, but due to a hectic month, we thought it would be a nice change for us to eat out. We enjoyed turkey and dressing.

Joy taught the Wednesday ladies Bible class for the Arusha congregation during the months of September, October, and November. Here are some of the topics we covered:

• Understanding God’s Plan for Roles
• Understanding the Wife’s Role in Marriage
• Loving Your Husband
• A Titus 2 Challenge
• Effective Communication
• A Christ-Centered Home
• Preparing Our Children for Marriage

ACSOP graduation was held November 28. Joy made the cake, as well as cupcakes, to go with the graduation meal, and Julia designed the programs. Eight individuals have completed their course of studies, and our prayer is that they will use the knowledge they have gained during their two years of schooling and be great servants in the Kingdom. Brother Earl Edwards taught a short course to all students, this last week before graduation, and he was also the keynote speaker for the graduation ceremony.

Our November went out with a bang with Lindsey having her first case of malaria. In the early Sunday morning hours she felt the onset of the well-known chills, and then started running fever, while also experiencing a significant amount of stiffness in her neck and pain in her back. We started her on some malaria drugs, but Monday there was no improvement. Joy drove her to the clinic where Lindsey does volunteer work, so that Dr. Smelser could take a look at her. He determined she needed some stronger drugs. By the time we got home Monday afternoon, her symptoms worsened, with vomiting that lasted until late that night, and such weakness that she could hardly walk down the hall. Tuesday morning she started to improve, and from that point on, improvement could be seen each day. It is remarkable how fast and furious it hit her, and we were all too aware of the many deaths that occur here due to malaria. We are thankful for the avenue of prayer, good Doctors, and availability of medicine. Our children certainly make their own sacrifices on the mission field.

December 4 the Fuller family arrived. They have come to participate in a youth camp that is being held for the first time here. They were able to add some time before and after the camp, in order to visit with our family, and we are enjoying their visit very much.

Thank you very much for your love and support as we labor here in Tanzania.

In Christ,
the Jensens

Congratulations Lindsey!
Your graduation pictures are beautiful. Your inner light truly shines! My girls still remember the few times our family spent together because of the impression you and your sister made. Your influence is far reaching! Sorry to hear you were so ill. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Jan

Lindsey
No, No, Linz, you cannot be graduating from H.S. You're just a little girl. How quickly our children grow up. Congrats Linz. A gift will come in a few days. We hope you are feeling better today. God bless the George Jensen family and their labors for the Cause. Heaven will surely be worth it all. Your family is one of a kind. III John 2. Brotherly, Windell and the Fikes family.
