Easy it is to know a man's face but difficult it is to know a man's thoughts

Money is a faithful Servant but a cruel Master

With each day passing, what have you been doing?

The next life or tomorrow - we can never be cetrain which will come first, but we hope to go on living

Poverty with dignity is better than wealth base on shame

A mind without work is the most troubled

Today is better than two tomorrows

One who can only hear but cannot understand is as good as deaf

Physical charms attracts the eyes, goodness attracts the mind

The lures of love often lead to the Brave

He who borrows on interest pays back in tears

Flattering words are but honey-coated poison

A fool thinks of survival of his body at the expense of his spiritual death

Knowledge of what is possible is the begining of happiness

I've not failed, I've just 10,000 ways that won't work

No other foes are greater than birth and death
No other friends are greater than merits

A good man does not extol himself
A cleaver man never boasts
A great man never brags

All the quotes in this blog were taken from the grounds of Wat U Mong. There is a forrest where every tree contains a nugget of wisdom, but attached to nearly every other tree on the property there are inspirational quotes not only for the monks, but for the visitors as well...

Orange Cloth

This is the main "temple" on the grounds. The orange cloth that is wrapped around the spire is considered untouchable once tied by a monk. This is a useful way to save trees (no joke) and old monuments because its considered a desicration to buddha to unwrap the cloth. Notice the green inspirational quote attached to the tree...

Not sure what this translates to but you get the point...

Great quotes. My thoughts exactly..."I've not failed, I've just 10,000 ways that won't work."
